Nantucket Weddings at Whale Watch
We continued our Nantucket journey on Saturday. The ladies first; not only a rehearsal evening of perfection, but a morning of preparation also planned to the last detail…they began the celebration here, together.
For the bride, a sweet gift from a good friend.
Yes, they were prepared to kick off the celebration at the salon. It’s all in the details…
Surrounded by family and friends, this was the first of many toasts. The smiles and laughter were endless (yes, we spent the morning in the salon with the ladies).
Of course, Matt had some prep time of his own. We met him back at the Whales Watch and caught him in some quiet moments of introspection.
His guys joined him, and their celebration of the day began…
A little last minute adjustment of his tie gave Matt a moment alone with his mother. Proud moment.
Meanwhile, back at the other house…everything was ready for Kristen. Elegance.
This is what Matt was thinking about earlier. The words, private. Her reaction, priceless.
I love when several generations are part of the day. Kristen’s grandmother and mother helped her into her dress. Precious.
Stunning. A personal favorite.
I saw the shoes. And knew this was a shot I wanted. Got it.
I am so happy that they chose to set time aside for the “First Look.” A wedding day can be hectic, and often the bride and groom barely have a moment alone to really look at each other, to talk, to enjoy it together. Matt and Kristen chose to go with us to a favorite lighthouse on the island for their First Look.
You can see taking the time for a First Look is so special…I was there, but far away, leaving them alone to savor this moment.
Next, we headed into town, turning a few heads along the way. It was a beautiful day, but we were battling the wind all along the way. They were good sports about it, thankfully – can’t control the wind on Nantucket!
Finally, we returned to the Whales Watch and grabbed the wedding party for a while before the ceremony. Good looking group. Not hard to pick out brother Michael in this bunch of blazers.
Kristen and her mother. Love and smiles and adoration in their eyes.
The ladies, ready at last.
Three generations, making memories.
A piece of luck for Matt from his parents, Patti and Jeff. Loved this idea.
This bride handled the unexpected wind brilliantly, laughing her way down the aisle. At the edge of the sea, they joined to exchange vows. I couldn’t ask for a better setting.
Great time dancing with family and friends – this is such a great family!
And so the journey ended. We all journeyed from points north, south, and west to revel in the atmosphere of Nantucket with Kristen and Matt. As you see, they left no detail to chance and it was beautiful.
Thanks for having us as part of this journey from engagement to marriage. We can’t wait to see you when you return from your honeymoon and share the rest of the photographs with you.
