Newtown Maternity Pictures | Stoudt Photographic
Stoudt Photographic was happy to meet once again with a great couple for Newtown Maternity Pictures. It was almost three years ago that Jenna and Andy contacted me to see if I would photograph their wedding. We met and hit it off immediately; these two are relaxed and easy to work with, so we have now had several opportunities to work together. You may remember their engagement session – or sessions! We started on a Spring afternoon at St. Joe’s and worked our way around Philadelphia, shooting at Love Park, Citizen’s Bank Park – they are both major Phillies fans – and finally ended up at the Art Museum, only to find temperatures dropping and wind rising. No problem: we all happily agreed to continue on another weekend, which then found us in Washington Crossing, on both sides of the river. Soon enough it was July of 2011 and we photographed their wedding in Newtown, Pennsylvania and The Merion in Cinnaminson, New Jersey. That was a party! Now, they are expecting their first child in July, and we feel so privileged to be able to spend time with them again and photograph a bit of this precious time. We set out to meet them in their home in Newtown on Saturday.
I like to photograph maternity sessions as ‘an engagement session with a belly.’ Because these photographs are about the love a couple shares and the excitement that is growing as the baby grows. Anyone who has a child, or a few children, knows what this feels like, and how precious every moment of the pregnancy is to you.
After we spent time in their home (which is stocked and set up, ready for baby – beautiful!), we headed to Tyler Park in Newtown. It was a gorgeous early summer evening, and Jenna was a sport about heading down steep hills and ravines to get to some of my favorite spots, including Schofield Ford Covered Bridge. Of course, the spiders were not invited, but hey, it’s nature! She handled the bugs as easily as she handles everything – with a look and a laugh.
I always have at least one, and this time, my personal favorites of the evening were inside the bridge…
Classic Bucks County beauty. Standing along a classic Bucks County spot, the flowing Neshaminy Creek. The water was running high and fast. Love it.
It’s wonderful to be able to be a part of this newest passage in Jenna and Andy’s lives. Our hope is that these photographs will forever be a reminder of the love and happiness they are experiencing as they await the arrival of their child.
…and you know what comes next: baby portraits! 😉
