Update!!!

Where were we? Oh, yes.  What do you get when cross and Moral with Firth?

A graduate of St. Joseph’s University he began teaching and did not anticipate this Rideer University graduate etering his life like a whirlwind.  And we had wind that Saturday, let me tell you!  Nearly toppled us many times; so much for the weather forecast of sunny and breezy…

Jenna and Andy had this all mapped out from the day we met to make plans for their engagment shoot and wedding, next July.  Starting on the camps of St. Joe’s and working our way accross town to Citizens Bank Park, then looping back to Center City and off to the Philadelphia Museum of Art.  It wa a wild reide trying to outrn the wind and catch the last olifht of the evening…the wind won.  That day.

If it is true that a woman can draw a man to her with pure energy, then Jenna has that energy.  No, she is that energy.  We spent two sessions with these two and it was nothing but fun and romance and light and laughter.  Magnetic, drawn together…watching them talk between shots, patient and easy and close and quietly, they were in their own cocoon, surrounded by the hubbub of the city. A quiet comment and her laugh explodes, lighting up her face; his quiet smile slowly spreads across is face, a slight nod of his head, a look, and you see they are together…is that synergy?  I don’t know, but whatever it is, they have it.  Watch.

But their eyes have it.  He is the calm, she is the wind.  Both quick-witted, they kept us laughing – their humor may have drawn them to each other.  Okay, probably something else – at first.  But the shared humor, the quiet asides – they are on the same page…teachers’ pages, they share that, of course.  But it’s more…he watches out for her, his quiet eyes absorbing her and she looks back, steady and strong.  Smiles are always lurking.Big fans.  The wind was against us, though. The shoes, at’s all about the shoes.  And the dress.  Jenna was a psort, because the temperature hasd dropped, the sun was setting, and the wind was wicked. We headed to Washington Crossing the following Sunday.  Out of the city.  Blue skies.  Calm.  New hair.Oh, almost forgot.  The answer…2006, the Hawk.It was a great time together, and we can’t wait for the wedding!  Click here to see their slideshow.

Engagement: Paul and Lori, Philadelphia, Pa

We met Paul and Lori in Philadelphia for the GTKY session.  Great early summer day, and they were ready to share their story.

A bit of “You go first.”  “No, you go first.”  Suffice to say, their meeting and attraction was unexpected.  And Paul is a cartoonist, so he created this awesome book that tells the tale…of his nervousness, of his thoughts…all captured by his hand.  Clever.Had to swing by one of their favorite spots in the city.

A passion for both:  the Phillies…and the dog.  Look at him.

Love this…and you’re right, Paul.  The end of the beginning and next…the beginning of everything else.  We had a great time with both of you (well, all three of you).  Thanks for spending the day with us for your GTKY session!  Looking forward to the wedding! The love. Her eyes have it.  For him.  For love.We headed to Washington Crossing, the field below Bowman’s Tower.  They were ready to play.Haunting.

This is how they were…into each other, in love, serious and playful, back and forth.  Great day.We ended with laughter.  Thanks you two, for inviting us into your engagement.  Can’t wait for the wedding! Click here to see the rest of their session.

His day.  A remarkable young boy…beginning his journey into adulthood.

It’s all in the details.  His Talis was beautiful and he wore it proudly.   His reading, his interpretations, hi preparation – impressive.  Clear.  Calm. Confident.

Scene stealer…as only a younger brother can…his turn is next.Let the games begin…these boys had a blast.  Boys, making plans….Lean on me.

It was a wonderful weekend!  It all began on Saturday with a touching, sacred ceremony, followed by a beautiful luncheon..then into Sunday for the celebration.  And they celebrated! Dancing and laughter, in spite of the heat of a sunny July day.  Everyone had a blast, but no one more than L.  As it should be.

Thank you for not only choosing us for the photography, but for including us in the celebration.  Next time, we bring our dancing shoes…

Looking forward to sharing the rest of the photographs with all of you!

Bar Mitzvah: Philadelphia, Pa: The National Liberty Museum

A sunny August day found us in downtown Philadelphia for a Bar Mitzvah.  This was such a unique venue:  The National Liberty Museum.  If you haven’t been there, you have to make the trip.  The Mazlins chose it for a variety of reasons, not the least of which was the onnection between their special celebration for their son and the museum’s mission to “…promote non-violence and acceptance of others by showing…that freedom is “fragile”…like glass.”  It was the perfect backrop for the evneing.

Beautiful.  Sculpture and young man.

Father and son.  The connection was strong and loving.  You saw it in this boy’s poise – if he was nervous, we couldn’t see it.  Dad prepared him well, for this day and more.Calm. Cool. Collected.Mom prepared him, too.  We met them at the Omni Hotel at Independence Park.  She was a radiant and proud mother, organizing everyone and ready to enjoy this day surrounded by family and friends.Brotherly love. Couldn’t resist.  I see a hint of the men they will become…Good friends and family surrounded him.  the room was inspirational.  His smile tells it all.

We had a great time spending the day in the city with all of you.  Thank your for inviting us to be a part of his day!
